Vegetation Management- Goat Grazing

TCSD has been maintaining a proactive vegetation management program on its open space and park properties. A key component of our effort has been to coordinate with the Southern Marin Fire District (SMFD) on vegetation management activities. In 2024, SMFD has spent tens of thousands of dollars under a grant to proactively remove brush and dead/hazardous trees from TCSD parks/open space parcels as well as other public lands.

Our vegetation management activities does include goat and sheep grazing. TCSD annually collaborates with Marin County Parks, Mill Valley School District, National Park Service (GGNRA), and Marinview to provide goat grazing on the public lands in and around the Marinview community.
